Leonie Lacouette

Using found objects to create a vast combination of shapes, Leonie Lacouette pieces together her art.  Earning her BFA from SUNY New Laitz in 1983, Lacouette moved to the country, permanently leaving the existence of city life behind.  Her early work was enormously successful, appearing in Home magazine as well as the New York Times, The Crafts Report and Hudson Valley magazine.  Moving forward, Lacuoette explains, "when you're a student, you long to do something different.  Now I want to do something beautiful.  The idea that the work now has a warmer look is good".
