Scott Amrhein's magnificent Lumen bowls were born, not through an artist's thoughtful journey, rather, this metal casting worker stumbled upon glass and it's possibilities when his wife took up stained glass as a hobby. Upon seeing the possibilities glass presented, Scott began designing projects, and soon was accepting small commissions. Through a series of experiments, the lumen bowls evolved, each with its unique metallic organic pattern created as the metallic finish resists gravity when the hot glass slumps in the kiln. The addition of stands made of wood and metal result in a stunning presentation. A High Cliff piece is a must have for any serious glass collector, and a remarkable addition to any home.
